Goodness me, this website has been functional for quite a while now – yet, here I am, finally making it official – I’m opening up the doors of the site to new visitors, and the world in general.
Things have been busy: this last year has seen a mourning process continue in my life, the creation of a new life, a grand voyage overseas with my family (to visit my family!) and finally, on January 12th of this year, the birth of my daughter, Isobella Mai. A very long year – yet so short. Sometimes when one is trying to enjoy every minute of every day, those minutes and days seem to vanish away awfully quickly. Nevertheless, if one has a little bit of free memory and perhaps a camera, one can look back on the days afterward. Honestly at this point, I am glad of my camera because developmental milestones with my little daughter are often reached and passed incredibly quickly!
So here we are, a blog on canvas. I feel more inspired now than at any other point in my life: I suppose I just had to wait a little while to see the outcome of everything. I knew it would take a while to get going again: one cannot “force out” art, no matter how many hours one has to paint.
At the moment I am working on a large canvas – we’ll see how quickly I get that one done. I have a feeling it won’t be long… Then, it’ll be back to finishing off a few jelly fish. And then…then, ideas are abundant and collecting quickly in my mind. We shall just have to see what I decide to paint first…
