About

Jeanne R. P. Bowyer was born on Saturday 15th May 1982, in St Albans, England. Her mother had gone to the market in the morning to get a few things, but soon realized her daughter wasn’t going to wait around.

So, exactly 446 years after Anne Boleyn stood trial for treason; exactly 189 years after Diego Marín Aguilera sailed about 360 ft in a glider during one of the first attempted flights; exactly 77 years after the “birth of Las Vegas” took place with the auctioning of the land it was founded on and exactly 42 years after McDonalds opened it’s first restaurant, Jeanne decided to come out and start observing the world.

Raised by two deeply artistic individuals, she began painting and writing at a very early age, creating and illustrating her own books at the age of six or seven. She enjoyed imagining wonderful stories and was terribly pleased when her father, Kevin Bowyer, “published” one of her stories. She started playing the guitar at the age of nine, and still does today – a small continuance of the beautiful musical legacy created by both her father, on the organ, and her mother on the celo.

Fast forward to the present day, and we have an individual who spends her days writing professionally and painting – mostly acrylic on canvas. Her works have been quite prolific: Jeanne started commissioning in 2000 and has greatly enjoyed her progress thus far, emigrating with a few canvases to America from Britain in 2005.

In October 2008, Jeanne’s first daughter, Josie Jae was sadly lost at birth. Because of this tragedy, Jeanne now works both privately (for free) and with the Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation in the digital restoration of photographs of babies lost. She finds this work very rewarding because it gifts the grieving parents with a memory of their little ones as they would have been. More information can be found on the “Creations After Loss” page.

Jeanne’s greatest influences both in painting and writing have been the planet Earth; her wonderful family; her many pets; her travels (having been to India, Jordan and all over Europe as well as America); her life so far and her wonderfully interesting friends. Only occasionally social, Jeanne prefers to be in nature and in solitude, usually surrounded by music. Her second daughter, Isobella Mai was born in January of 2010, healthy and whole.
